It was a knockout night for boxing as undefeated Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather took on Sugar Shane Mosley. Mayweather is being called the best pound-for-pound fighter in history. Now, many are asking — will Manny Pacquiao dare to enter the ring?

Former No. 1 fighter Mosley
landed a good punch on Mayweather in the second round, but Mayweather rallied and dominated the rest of the match. Mayweather wound up with 208 punches, more than twice as many as Mosley, who got in 92. Mayweather won by a unanimous decision.

The undefeated Mayweather was the heavy favorite heading in. But analysts say this fight was the first time he had to overcome adversity in the ring. He got hurt in the second round, and when he did the crowd started chanting Mosley’s name. Now, boxing fans are calling for champion Manny Pacquiao to take on Mayweather.

Mayweather has asked Pacquiao to fight before, but a disagreement over when the fighters would be tested for drugs put the kibosh on the match. ESPN analyzes the chances of a fight.

"Now he can say to Manny Pacquiao, ‘Look, we had no problems, Shane Mosley and I, going through this, getting our blood tested. It didn’t offend anybody here in Nevada. He has the moral high ground now on this position, so he said tonight, he’s gonna stay to his point and say, ‘Without the blood testing I will not fight Manny Pacquiao.’ So the ball is now in Manny Pacquiao’s court.”

Yahoo! Sports says last night's fight was too easy of a win, and a Mayweather-Manny match-up is critical for boxing.

"...it was boring as hell. ...Saturday night’s fight proved that there is only one contest involving Mayweather worth watching right now: the much-debated, politically-contentious and potentially record-breaking blockbuster against Manny Pacquiao that the sport desperately needs."

Whether Pacquiao can best Mayweather is boxing's big question. The Las Vegas Sun wonders if last night's match means Mayweather is the perfect fighter.

"...he has figured out the sport of boxing. ... His natural athletic ability. His family’s background ... the little things he does so much better than any other fighter ...Mayweather is a genius at defeating his opponents mentally before defeating them physically."

We leave you with Mayweather and Mosley’s takes on the match.

Mayweather: "I’m just trying to bring the fans the new Floyd Mayweather, you know, giving the fans their money’s worth. A toe-to-toe battle. I got hit with some big shots, but only the strong survive."

Mosley: "I cracked him with a good shot. I was thinking I was on my way to a knockout and I start loading up, and from there I just tightened up and couln’t do anything from there."
