Dolphins vs. Jets. 0-4 team vs. 2-3 team. Not much excitement there. But how about throwing in a guarantee…to get ejected. WSVN shows us who.

“The past four games have been tough for me trying to control some things, and hey man, I’m just going to let it out. I don’t know if it’s throwing a football 15 yards in the bleachers and getting a 15 yarder or punting the ball and getting thrown out of the game. But something’s going to happen. I’ll probably get kicked out after the 2nd quarter.”

Well that got everyone talking. Over at ESPN, Chris Broussard says, getting fired up is great, but why seek out an ejection?

“Then to take it to the point where you say I want to get kicked out in the 2nd quarter. Now I’m questioning your commitment to the team. Are you trying to win?”

Even if it isn’t hyperbole, one writer for The Palm Beach Post thinks there could be something positive here. Marshall’s attitude change could correct his poor performance in Miami.

“Give Marshall credit for recognizing the problem. After an offseason spent getting diagnosed with a personality disorder and learning how to control his emotions, Marshall admitted Thursday that he needs to show more fire on the field, to regain his aggression and passion for the game.”

And New York’s WNBC is looking a little higher than the troubled wideout- suggesting drawing the eyes of the commish isn’t wise.

“You can probably hear Roger Goodell cackling to himself. There's nothing that man loves to do more than issue fines and he's probably checking with his lawyers to see if he can fine Marshall for predicting a future fine as some kind of gambling.”

But Brian Noe of ESPN Radio 104.5 The Team suggests maybe Marshall should care less about his emotions and more about execution.

“Not good, B-Marsh. Not good.  Focus on catching the ball instead of dropping it or banging it off of your head, please.”

Finally a Sun-Sentinel columnist takes offers a different explanation. Could Marshall be being selfless, dare we say altruistic?

“[Marshall] Put the focus on him and not Matt Moore, who will be making his first start for the Dolphins … He also wants his teammates to play with more passion, and feels he needs to set the example.”

The Jets and Dolphins square off at 8:30 eastern Monday night in the meadowlands.
