Actor-slash-rapper Mark Wahlberg-- aka Marky Mark-- is teaming up with a New Kid on the Block-- to open up a burger joint.
Here’s KGO.

“Actor Mark Wahlberg is taking a bite out of burger business. He and brother Donnie are opening a new restaurant in Boston called Wahlburgers.”

Get it? Wahlburgers? The name fits like a glove-- and the New York Daily News says they had to fight for it.

“The restaurant had been in the plans for sometime, but a few months ago, a wrench was thrown into the works. Restaurant owner Tom Wahl’s had already secured the rights to the name and had a chain of burger joints around the Rochester, N.Y., area... He even also sold a burger named the ‘Wahlburger.’”

Luckily for the brothers, the owner was willing to sell. According to the Democrat and Chronicle, he even got in on some of the fun.

“It’s a fun thing, out of the blue, to be contacted by a group surrounded by a Hollywood actor (like Mark Wahlberg)... He is well respected out there, it is kind of fun.”

The Wahlberg’s hope the name will be more than fun--they think it’ll be one of the keys to the restaurant’s success. Hollywood.com writes...

“Their business partner … commented on their excitement on gaining ownership of the oh-so clever restaurant name saying that ‘It's a good sounding brand we could put out the product with, a great name people could relate to.’”

Getting hungry? No word yet from the Mark and Donnie on exactly when the restaurant will open, but they’ve already picked out a head chef--their brother Paul Wahlberg.
