Man With Last Name 'Cocaine' Arrested For Drug Possession

Edward Cocaine faced a Florida judge and explained his odd last name.

Ok, so it's safe to say this is not the last name you want when you're in court trying to get out of drug charges.

"How about Edward Cocaine. What? ... You know, I thought I'd seen it all. ... How many times have police told you to step out of the car, sir, in your life?"

"Just about every time I get pulled over."

Yes, that's Edward Cocaine and he was arrested for allegedly possessing drugs.

What kind of drugs you ask? Not cocaine. Xanax actually. (Via Flickr / Dean812

Cocaine says his great-grandparents immigrated to the country from Greece and legally changed the family name to Cocaine. Seriously. It's on his drivers license and everything.

And media outlets had fun with it, split between focusing on the suspect's ironic name and the judge's "giddy" reaction. (Via GawkerNew York Daily News)

A bit of good news, though, for Mr. Cocaine. The Sun-Sentinel reports Judge John "Jay" Hurley released him without bail.
