Ever wanted to leave your job with a bang?
Joey DeFrancesco decided giving two weeks notice was just too easy.
So he opted to add a dash spectacle when he handed in his notice.
The video was posted up on YouTube and has gone viral.

Co-Worker: “What the hell is this?”
Band Mate 1: “Jared’s here, Jared’s here.”
Joey: “Shhh”
Jared: “Guys what is this? Guys, all of you out right now!”
Joey: “Jared, I’m here to tell you that I am quitting.”
Band Mate 2: “1, 2, 3, 4.”

So why did Joey opt for such an extravagant end to his three year employment at the hotel? The Huffington Post spoke with Joey and got some answers.

“I hated them, and they hated me … It was this big drawn-out war we were having with management ... I knew I had to get one last shot at them.”

On the YouTube page where the video was posted, he prefaced his actions by writing for those of you who don’t know me I want to give you some context.

“The working conditions in the hotel are horrendous. In the kitchen, workers are regularly forced to work 10, 11, 14, 16 hour shifts that begin at 5:30AM and last well into the night. Housekeepers are reprimanded if they fail to clean 16 rooms or more in a 9 hour shift. Anyone who speaks up—especially anyone who is openly pro-union—is disciplined or fired.”

The web has been a blaze with comments.
Adriana Diaz at Trending Now says, they haven’t all been positive.

“And while most people on social media love the video, one person said, quote, “I hope he doesn’t want a good referral for his next job.”

A Blogger at Yahoo! News Canada said that the viral video, while unique, is nothing new. Citing previous instances where employee antics have gone viral.

“In August of last year, a JetBlue flight attendant made an announcement over the public address system, grabbed a beer, deployed the evacuation slide and slid down it to get off the plane. He was later hailed as a working-class hero for quitting in such a fashion.”

According to his YouTube page, Joey had already found a job before he quit working at the hotel.
