Your sister just moved into a $32 million apartment. She’s one of the few superstars known by one name. So you’re probably well off, too, right? Not the case for Madonna’s brother- here’s New York’s WPIX.
“After losing his job at his father’s winery, 55-year-old Anthony Ciccone is currently living under a bridge in Traverse City, Michigan, collecting bottles and cans for money. Ciccone told a newspaper that he lost his job more than a year ago and that his family has turned its back on him. Hey, Madonna- what’s up with that?”
Gawker says, come on! Open your heart- and your wallet- to your big bro.
“We're sure there's more to the story other than, ‘Madonna is a greedy bitch who won't help out her brother.’ But...that's gotta suck … Come on, Madge, lend a brother a hand!”
But a Cinema Blend blogger suggests-- there’s more than one way to look at this situation.
“People don’t just get fired by their dads and cast off onto the streets without provocation, but some people are firmly of the opinion that you should never stop helping your siblings regardless of how many times they may have screwed up.”
The anchors at WNYW agree, suggesting there’s a lot of bad blood in the Ciccone fam.
ROSANNA SCOTTO: “I mean, you really don’t know the story, because Madonna’s very generous and her family is a huge family. And the fact that none of them are taking care of him, there signals all the problems there.”
JILL NICOLINI: “Well, her other brother also wrote the book for her life and who she is, so, I don’t know, we’ll see if Madonna comments and if this guy’s legit.”
Finally-- an Ology blogger argues even though she can, Madge isn’t obligated to help.
“[He] sounds kind of crybaby-ish. And he goes on to add: ‘Never say never. This could happen to anybody.’ And you know what else could happen to anybody? Anybody could work hard and get their frost-bitten feet back on the ground.”
