Boy: Yeah, well, I was on E*trade, you know, diversifying my portfolio, taking control like a wolf.
Girl: Right.
Boy: What's that? That's volatility in the market? pft. Taken care of. Wolf style. *howls*
Girl: And that milk-aholic Lindsay wasn't over?
Boy: Lindsay?
Girl 2: Milk-a-what?!" (E*trade)
You've seen the adorable babies acting like adults for E*trade. But that latest ad which debuted at the Super Bowl that has Lindsay Lohan crying foul.
Lohan's lawyer says the name "Lindsay" alone identifies her client, because she has one-name recognition like Oprah or Madonna. But CNN anchors don't agree.
"That's a stretch! *laughter* but, I didn't even think of that, I mean... I mean the words 'get over yourself' come to mind. Did you even think for a minute Lindsay Lohan when you saw that ad? No. I've never known Linsday Lohan to drink milk. Perhaps she does."
Despite the dollar amount attached to the suit, the MSNBC Morning Joe team is upset they're even talking about this.
"Joe Scarborough: How did that get in our news?
Mika Brzezinski: Uh, cause Chris thinks it rates.
Producer: No, No, No, this a great story!
Joe Scarborough: How did we go from. No it's not a great story!
Mika Brzezinski: It's stupid.
Producer: She's suing for $100 million!
Joe Scarborogh: We're talking about the debate between liberty and security and you're doing Lindsay Lohan next?
Wallstreet tabloid Dealbreaker says the baby in question 'sort of has red hair', so Lohan may have a point.
"On the one hand, sounds like someone’s being a little paranoid. On the other? Yeah, it’s definitely supposed to be her. And she does need the money."
Hollywood news blog, PopEater, is suspicious of the whole story and wonders if E*Trade might be engineering a publicity push.
"Thanks to said lawsuit and the news coverage surrounding it, hundreds of thousands of people have watched the commercial in question... What better way to drum up publicity than to attach your name to a bogus lawsuit that will never happen, while still getting millions of eyes on your commercial, without having to spend a penny?"
The women on The View point out now that Lohan's said it's her, it's true.
Whoopi Godlberg: "Now it's gonna be true, before I don't think anybody put two and two together cause they were laughing at the babies, but now that's all we're gonna think about. Oh, look at Linsday Lohan!"
Elisabeth Hasselbeck: "And who created that now in our heads, it's Lindsay that now put it out there..."
Sherri Shepherd: "It's amazing what you can get when you bring about these kinds of lawsuits."
So what do you think? Was the ad really referring to Linsday Lohan?
