In the age of the tablet computer most companies have followed the mantra that smaller and more compact equals better. But one company is thinking big. WTVR has more.

“At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Lenovo is unveiling what it calls the first tablet-PC. The computer lies flat on any surface so that two or more people can use the screen at the same time.”

Called the IdeaCentre Horizon, the mammoth tablet’s screen measures 27 inches and weighs about 17 pounds. So, it’s roughly the size of an iMac.

But, unlike the iMac, the Windows 8 machine can also lay flat for multiple users to use simultaneously.

Using Lenovo’s new Aura interface the tablet’s screen can respond to input from as many as ten fingers at once. Allowing family and friends to control apps, and music, and even play games — like air hockey.

As well as an e-dice, four joysticks, and strikers for gaming.

According to the company it will come with its own app store and go on sale this summer for $1,699.
