Posterized! A Detroit high school student found out the hard way that no one knocks out LeBron James.
The player in question is Evan Mahome, a Detroit native who very nearly eliminated the Heat star in a game of knock out.
Fox Sports has the video:
"You certainly can’t get mad at an NBA star for showing up at a kids basketball camp to help out—or can you? Take a look at LeBron playing a friendly little game of knock out with the kids."
The video gave renewed life to the bashing of King James. Writers from coast to coast jumped at another opportunity to mock the veteran, using his lackluster Finals performance as the butt of the joke.
Florida’s WPEC took a sarcastically optimistic view of the play.
“With the NBA locked out, players getting their fix any way they can. LeBron James seems to have regained that killer instinct he lacked in the finals.”
And this parting shot comes from David Chang of Philadelphia’s WCAU.
“It was an explosive attack to the basket that was certainly lacking from LeBron during his disappointing finals series against the Mavs. Though it helps that young Evan isn’t quite as intimidating in the paint as Tyson Chandler. Check out the video … before it gets confiscated by Nike.”
While others take their shots at the King, TMZ reports: after hip-checking the high school student on his follow-through, LeBron followed up with a gift.
“Afterward, [Evan] went to his Facebook page and posted, ‘Got dunked on by Lebron :-( but he gave me his shoes so its alll good broo.’”
With multiple media outlets anticipating an extended NBA lockout, it could be awhile before LeBron can posterize another professional.
