Sky Metalawala was reported missing a week ago, and the case just keeps getting weirder. FOX News has the details.

“Police will not hide their frustration in the search for a missing two year old boy. They’re saying the boys mother or someone close to her know what happens, but they’re not talking. They’re saying the details in the mother’s story doesn’t make sense, and no one is talking.”

Julia Biryukova, the boy’s mother, says she was driving with her four year old daughter and Sky, when her car ran out of gas. Biryukova and her daughter left Sky in the car and went to go get gas. When they came back, her son was gone.

Seattle’s KING 5 reports, police put her story to the test.

“They knew already her story about running out of gas wasn’t any good, there was plenty of gas in the car. But they wanted to make sure there wasn’t any kind of mechanical problem that could have resulted in her breaking down on Sunday morning. As you are about to see the car this morning, seemed to run just fine.”

Investigators have already gotten more than 300 tips with no luck and the mother still won’t talk.  So, they turned to their TiVOs for guidance.

“They say her account doesn't add up, and also say it's ‘strikingly similar in nature’ to an episode of the TV series ‘Law and Order: SVU.’ The episode, which aired the night before Sky's disappearance, centered on a mother who tries to cover up the death of her child by saying he was taken from her car,”

In the same ABC article, Sky’s father says the theory makes sense.

“‘Law and Order’ was Julia's favorite show and the similarities are pretty similar and if she got that idea in her head that ‘I can make this happen,’ she's not going to fear the consequences, because she doesn't fear consequences.”

Five days after the boy went missing, an anonymous person sent a ransom note to a Facebook group dedicated to finding the toddler. HLN’s Nancy Grace found out what the note said.

“If you want your child back alive, you must make available the sum of US 25,000 dollars.”

According to the mother, Sky has been missing for a week. But a writer for the Huffington Post reports, even that part of the story may be fiction.

“Indications are that the last time anyone saw Sky was a couple of weeks ago. Johnson said investigators had been unable to find anybody who has seen Sky since then.”

So far the dad has taken two polygraph tests, and Biryukova has been “too disturbed” to take one.
