Laurence Fishburne’s 19-year-old daughter, Montana, has made a porn film with Vivid Entertainment. Many wonder why that, with such a famous father, she’s going into the adult film industry.
Montana says she made the movie before telling her father about it so that he couldn’t stop her, and that now that he knows, he’s devastated. Montana says she wants to be famous, and she hopes this film will make her a star just like the release of Kim Kardashian’s sex tape with singer Ray J a few years ago turned Kardashian into a household name. E! quotes her.
AMY PAFFRATH: “Fishburne says, ‘I’ve watched how successful Kim Kardashian became, and I think a lot of it was due to the release of her sex tape,’ adding, ‘I’m hoping the same magic will work for me'.”
But many argue that Kardashian’s was a private, at-home sex tape, not a professional porn movie. TMZ’s reporters admit that so far Montana’s plan for fame has worked, but say it won’t in the long run.
“I had never heard of her before the porn tape.”
“I didn’t even know she existed.”
“Now we do.”
“Do you think it’s going to work like Kim Kardashian’s worked?”
“No.”
Still, Fox News points out that while stars like Kardashian and Paris Hilton claim their sex tapes were leaked without their consent, that the releases were surrounded by suspicious timing.
“…Hilton’s fittingly coincided with the start of her reality series ‘The Simple Life,’ and Kardashian’s to the launch of her family’s series, ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’”
AOL has a clip from The Wendy Williams Show. Williams says that, ultimately, if Montana wanted fame, all she had to do was play off of her name.
WENDY WILLIAMS: “Your Lawrence Fisburne’s daughter for goodness sakes, young lady. Why are you doing this to your father? ... He’s on CSI. Get her a role as an extra, let her start out as an intern, something. ... You’re a Fishburne. Would you go with your strengths, dumb dumb?” (laughter/applause)
But Montana might have changed her tune. People magazine spoke with her.
“…she's not hoping her adult film, which will be released by Vivid Entertainment on Aug. 10, will spawn a mainstream acting career. ‘I am not in porn to get into acting. I am in porn because I wanted to be in porn,’ she says bluntly.”
Laurence Fishburne hasn’t commented, though there are reports that he and close friends tried to pay Vivid $1 million to buy all of the DVDs of the film, but it had already gone into distribution.
