It looks like Gaga’s in a bad romance with now former creative director Laurieann Gibson.

Reports say tension grew between the duo on the set of Lady Gaga’s “Judas” video because Gibson didn’t agree with its religious imagery-  (Interscope)
...and came to a head on the gender-bending “You and I” video set. (Interscope)

MediaTakeout first reported Gaga and Gibson’s parting of the ways, arguing Gibson started taking too much credit for Gaga’s persona.

“Laurieann told the LA Times ... that she modeled GaGa after Madonna, a charge Lady Gaga has been fighting for years … DANG, we knew Laurieann was a DIVA, but MaMa you gotta keep that diva ISH under control when you're talking about your boss.”

And The Hollywood Reporter says the fame monster got the best of Gibson- first her own reality show on E!, then this anecdote-

“Apparently, Gibson was taking her sweet time posing for photographers [at the Emmys], so much so that she created gridlock and angered [event coordinators].”

But MTV runs through the partnership that was, suggesting its demise won’t be good for Gaga.

“Gibson has been part of Gaga's inner circle since well before the singer became an international superstar, beginning with the choreography for the 2008 ‘Beautiful, Dirty, Rich’ video and continuing through the soon-to-be famous steps in clips for ‘Just Dance,’ ‘Poker Face,’ ‘Love Game,’ ‘Paparazzi’ and ‘Bad Romance.’”

And an Ology blogger says Gaga’s to blame. The more Gaga distanced herself from Gibson, the less successful Gaga got.

“...it seems that Gaga needs to truly borrow from Madonna and reinvent herself if she wants to climb her way back to the top … Maybe with this surprising turn of events, Gaga can evaluate the creative choices that have been made in the promotion of Born This Way thus far.”

Gaga’s now working with one of Gibson’s former dancers on the video for new single “Marry the Night,” set to premiere later this month.
