After three blockbuster hits -- actor Shia Labeouf -- says he is done with the Transformers series.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Labeouf says...

“I feel like creatively we always planned on doing three movies. We sort of taken it to the edge of the bridge and there is nowhere to go. I think it would be like a suicide mission essentially this is the best we movie ever made.”

Labeouf isn’t the only member of the Transformers team that says - the series has run its course. Director Michael Bay tells Digital Spy...

“In terms of more Transformers films I think you and Shia said maybe this is the last one. Anything change your mind?

“‘I don’t know, lets see what this does.’”

And now may be the best time to end the series.

The third installment - ‘Dark of the Moon’ - debuted Wednesday.

A writer for CNN says -- it’s better than the second film in the series -- but that isn’t to say it’s a good movie.

“‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ is an improvement on ‘Revenge of the Fallen.’ It's a lousy movie, but at least it's a lousy movie with a serviceable story... and an action climax that goes on forever.”

But a reviewer for io9 says -- it’s not better. It’s the same movie.

“So with Transformers 3, Michael Bay has made a movie about how dumb you were to hate Transformers 2, and how much you hurt his feelings by dissing his movie. Partly, he does this by making a note-for-note remake of Transformers 2. And partly, he does this by lecturing the audience about how unappreciated he feels.”

So what’s next for Hollywood blockbuster star?

LeBeouf speaks to MTV News about whats to come

“What happens in fifteen years when Bay comes back and says we got this 4D thing we want to see what Sam is doing in his middle age?’ ‘I am done with this acting thing 15 years I am going into produce’”
