Kate+8 = over? It’s true -- TLC has can celled the reality show staring Kate Gosselin and her eight children. E! Online has details.
Liz Hernandez: “TLC has pulled the plug deciding not to renew another season. But the network isn’t saying bye bye for good-- it hopes to check in with Kate and the family for specials in the future... Kate’s show aired for seven seasons with five about her marriage and split from ex husband Jon and two following her as a single mom.”
But a writer for SheKnows Entertainment thinks there’s an underlying message from TLC.
“That’s a nice way of saying that sans the douche bag dad, the show is not worth keeping on air any longer. And those kids aren’t as cute as they once were... Good riddance, I say. Let those kids be kids for once!”
What will Gosselin do now? She tweeted that she’d like to write another book and have more time for public speaking tours. A writer for Babble speculates about a new show.
“Kate recently divulged to the media that she’s interested in dating again, and it’s possible she might be gunning for a spin-off show about her love life.”
With the show coming to an end, a writer for the Washington Post explores why the audience was so drawn to it in the first place.
“The Gosselins became the canvas upon which million of viewers painted their own judgments about child-rearing and marriage. Were the couple communicative enough? Was there too much barking in the house? Was the exposure justified if it brought needed financial support?”
RadarOnline spoke to dad Jon -- who says he is quote- “relieved” to see the show’s end.
