Kate Middleton’s head is under some scrutiny. She has a mysterious three inch scar which can be seen in her hair near the left temple. Now, everybody is asking where it came from. ABC has the details.

"You can sort of see it there. It is picking out through her half up half down hair. Apparently the palace says it related to childhood operation. A lot of people buzzing about this obviously because she has been in the spotlights since 2001 and we are just noticing now.”

A spokesperson tells the Daily Mail that her scar is related to a serious childhood operation—one that the palace is keeping hush-hush.

"The palace declined to discuss what kind of operation because it was, they said, a private matter. Senior royal sources also confirmed that it had been ‘a very serious operation’ but declined to comment further.”

The Duchess herself has not commented on her operation. But the blog Mommyish says whatever it was—it could possibly explain Kate’s dedication to children.

While no one needs to have undergone a serious childhood operation to care about the well-being and suffering of children, Kate’s dedication to kids who have been struck by illness could be colored by her own experiences — which she well remembers as a young woman. Then again, she could have just had a birthmark removed.”

Meanwhile OMG! Yahoo wonders if the Duchess’ scar is going to start a fashion trend—like everything else she’s had on.

“Everything the Duchess seems to touch turns into a sell out from her nude patent heels to her skin-coloured tights, we're all rocking a little on the royal style. … So what's next, a stick-on scar that's a sell out? It is Halloween on Monday after all.”

The scar originally surprised some fashion critiques who thought it was part of a set of hair extensions.
