Charlie Weis should be used to goodbyes by now, as he accepts his fourth different job in the last four years.  His newest job -- head football coach at the University of Kansas. But WKMG reports Weis didn’t do the best job wishing his former head coach farewell.

“There are so many ways to say goodbye, but you know what? No two week notice from Charlie Weis. The Florida Gators offensive coordinator is leaving Gainesville for another job. A surprising move -- Florida head coach Will Muschamp didn’t even know about it until the rest of the country did.”

Regardless of how Weis left, ESPN’s Joe Schad says the move is an attempt to make Kansas football relevant again.

“This is a bold move for an athletics director that’s been at Kansas for less than a year, a guy who made the difficult decision to let Turner Gill go after only two seasons. But Sheahon Zenger believes is that Charlie Weis’ experience will translate to Kansas.

But a writer for Pre Snap Read thinks the man who helped develop Tom Brady is, in theory, just a pretty face.

“Weis makes Kansas relevant in the same way being on TV makes Kim Kardashian relevant. There’s name recognition and there’s fame, but there’s nothing of consequence to back up Zenger’s claim that Weis makes Kansas a destination to watch.”

And a writer for the Kansas City Star expects the relationship between Weis and Kansas to be the sports equivalent of a one night stand.

“Snap judgments on coaching hires should always be taken in context — Bill Snyder was a snooze, Quin Snyder a star — but right now this only makes sense like two consenting adults fresh off divorces getting together for a short, fun and low-expectation try for better self-esteem.”

However, opinions were mixed at the Star as another writer tweets -- given the circumstances, KU made out fine.

"For where KU football is now, Zenger hit a home run. He might be KU's Huggins, here and gone, but he knows his way around a football field."

Weis will be trying to turn around a team that failed to win a conference game in 2011.
