The possible divorce of Jon and Kate on reality television spurs a question: Is reality TV harmful to its subjects?

Bottom Line: They should both grow up, put their kids first and the marriage, tell the show to take a hike, return to planet earth and like the rest of America, work on their marriage. It takes work and counseling and love and love and love, they cannot possibly do any of that with cameras, tv contracts and people looking up their ass all the time,

Will Jon seek alimony from Kate? I'll bet he does. I heard the apartment he was looking at, in Manhattan, costs thousands a month. Where's that money coming from? Kate and the kids maybe?

By his own admission, Jon has never held a long-term job or really built a career. He was living with his parents when he met Kate. How does he propose they might've provided for 8 kids? Kate at least had a solid, dependable career as a nurse.
What if Kate had been the one to say "Whoops, I changed my mind about this whole marriage and eight kids deal and I'm leaving."?
It will be interesting to see if "finding himself" includes steady employment, not based on the kids.

I find it telling that it was TLC that pulled the plug on the show, not Kate or John. They are in this for the money, not their kids or their marriage. It is frustrating that they are garnering so much media attention when there are people dying in the streets of Tehran.

It's pathetic how much Kate loves it. It doesn't even matter what kind of impact having your entire life recorded has on their kids!

Just wait until the Octomom hits reality TV!!!

I'm interested in knowing how much Jon and Kate have been paid for this reality show, because no amount of money is worth the microscope that this family has been put under. The best decision they could make is to cancel the show, but I doubt Kate will go for that, since she appears to crave the fame.

Well I've missed another pop culture phenomenon. Reality TV is definitely something you shouldn't embark on lightly; it can record your faults and display them in front of a large public audience. Fun.

The truth is that Kate loves the diva life and John hates it. The problem here is that no one seems to be worried about the kids. It doesn't even seem like their own parents are that worried about the kids well-being. Will John and Kate announce a divorce tonight? I don't think so, the whole thing is a publicity stunt.
