Steve Jobs has left behind more than just a legacy. According to reports, the tech pioneer has mapped out the next four years for Apple updates. KCNC has more.
“The Apple genius worked up four years' worth of blueprints for fresh products. He masterminded updated versions of the iPod, iPhone and MacBook. The new iPhone has the most successful debut of any Apple product. More than 200,000 people have pre-ordered one.”
According to The Daily Mail, this was purposefully done by Jobs, wanting to make sure Applestayed the course that he set.
The Daily Mail says Jobs left behind plans for four years of new products.
And from Ubergizmo - a more forceful headline: “Steve Jobs’ stash holds four years of gold.”
From the Daily Mail: “Despite knowing he was dying, Steve Jobs worked for more than a year on the products that he believed would safeguard the company's future.”
And Nexus 404 notes -- this is nothing new for the team at Apple.
“According to analysts, this is characteristic of Apple and Jobs, as the company doesn’t only plan quarters in advance. Rather, it takes them years to plan and refine product designs, so that they will be truly ready for the market upon launch.”
But there is a dissenting voice inthe crowd. A writer for Gizmodo takes aim at The Daily Mail in particular.
“But is this a special plan? The Daily Mail … is implying that Jobs put extra care on it, perhaps fearing that the company would steer away from his vision too soon after his death. … I don't really know if this is true or not. What I can imagineis him obsessing over the future rather than the day-by-day, thinking that he was running out of time and that, once gone, nobody in the company would be able to carry on his vision.”
