“The celebrity couple tells E, ‘We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. It is a painful time for all involved and we would appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.’”

Most have reacted--with shock.
ABC wonders if the world should have seen this one coming.

“Did anyone see this coming, we know that Jennifer was out in Los Angeles meeting the royal couple and instead of bring Anthony we know she brought her mom, was that a sign?
“I guess it was a sign in hindsight but this was a shocker for everybody. You know the last time most of us  saw them together they were doing this incredibly hot sexy performance on American Idol.”


The question now -- is why?
No one seems to know however, and MSNBC says -- the way they split -- is not the Hollywood norm.

“The announcement itself seemed very different from what we usually see from celebrities …   this was very definitive as if it was going on for sometime.”
"You said it was unclear what will happen. We’ve already saw there was a promo out there was a trailer out, is it possible they could still work together obviously they have to co-parent together
“Right, its definitely possible.”

One Celebrity Smack Blogger has a theory on the split -- and isn’t too surprised to hear about it.

“There were always rumors that Marc Anthony was a bit controlling of JLo and didn’t like her dressing super sexy, so we shall see.”

The stars have two children together, twins Max and Emme.
