Apparently Apple’s new Find My Friends app can be used to find more than just friends.
In one man’s case it reportedly found a cheating wife.
Fox News explains.

“An unnamed New Yorker claims Apple's new "Find My Friends" app -- which uses GPS to locate any of your friends that have allowed you access to their location -- led to a stunning revelation: His wife has been cheating on him.”

So how did this suspicious spouse, who has since identified himself as Thomas Metz, uncover his “better half’s” betrayal?
According to The Telegraph he secretly installed the app and then kept a watchful eye on her whereabouts.

"’I got my wife a new 4s and loaded up Find My Friends without her knowing. She told me she was at her friend's house in the east village. I've had suspicions about her meeting this guy who lives uptown. Lo and behold, Find My Friends has her right there,’ Mr Metz was quoted as saying by the MacRumor website.”

But is this technologically-discovered tryst actually a tall tale? According to PC Magazine it could be a work of fiction, but with the evidence provided by “Mr. Metz”, it’s definitely plausible.

“It’s possible that the story could be a hoax, since Metz could not be contacted to verify it. However, he did include a couple of screen shots, including text messages and an image of her location on Find My Friends.”

And according to SFGate, if you’re thinking of engaging in an extramarital affair, avoiding Apple may not be enough to obscure your two-timing ways.

“Find My Friends is not the only app that can potentially break up a relationship. Google's Latitude also lets you see where your friends and significant others are, and it's available for both Android and iOS devices.”

But writers at the International Business Times know just how to cover your clandestine courting.

“...the application is self-regulated, one can turn it on and off according to their choice. So, next time when you lie to your wife about the official meeting, don’t forget to turn off “Find My Friend,” or else you might see her walking into your secretary’s house...”
