An Indiana man with was arrested Friday after allegedly threatening to set his wife on fire and kill people at a local elementary school.
VIA CLTV: “Sixty-year-old Von Meyer of Cedar Lake had 47 guns and a massive stock of ammunition at his home.”
The Associated Press reports Cedar Lake police found the guns and ammunition worth more than $100,000 in his home Friday.
Police reportedly notified the school and worked with officials to increase security at all schools in the area. (Chicago Tribune)
The Chicago Sun-Times reports, “The Meyer property is less than 1,000 feet from Jane Ball Elementary School and the properties are connected by a series of trails and walking paths [through] a wooded area.”
Meyer is being held at Cedar Lake County jail without bond.
