An Idaho senator who once said he doesn’t drink, was arrested for drunk driving early Sunday morning.
Here’s CNN.

“Idaho republican Mike Crapo was taken to jail in Alexandria, Virginia after midnight. Police say he was arrested after running a red light and charged with driving under the influence.”

Now the three-term Republican senator has some explaining to do.
Crapo is Mormon and has publicly said he abstains from drinking alcohol.
Fox News aired the senator’s statement on his arrest.

“I made a mistake for which I apologize to my family, my Idaho constituents and any others who have put their trust in me. I accept total responsibility and will deal with whatever penalty comes my way in this matter.”

According to Politico, Crapo’s blood-alcohol level was .110.
The legal limit in Virginia is .08.
He was alone in the car.

The 61-year-old was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to be in court January 4.
