Don’t point your finger at Dwyane Wade. KSAT reports Commissioner David Stern did during this weekend’s NBA labor talks and it didn’t go over too well.

“Wade got mad and yelled back, ‘You’re not pointing your finger at me. I'm not your child!’ Wade and the other stars almost stormed out of the meeting, but Union Executive Director Billy Hunter asked them to stay, and they did. Obviously the pressure is on to save the season.”

According to ESPN some of that pressure came from Stern who reportedly softened his stance about canceling the upcoming season if talks this past weekend didn’t speed up. An analyst weighed in on what Wade’s outburst could mean for player morale.

“...They said it wasn’t a personal issue, he was just standing up for the players. ... When they see a superstar, who makes as much money as anyone in the league, put that on the line by going after the commissioner for what he feels is right, then I think that’s going to rally the players around him and the union.”

WSVN caught up with Commissioner Stern who told his side of the tale, but wouldn’t go into much detail.

REPORTER: “There was a heated exchange of some kind. I feel passionately about the system and what it has delivered and what it should continue to deliver for the players and the owners and he feels passionately too.” ...
STERN: “We had a long, engaging, in some ways exhausting two days.”
REPORTER: “What happened between you and Dwyane yesterday?”
STERN: “Well I wrestled him--no.”

It’s that laughter that has a writer for CBS concerned. He’s not impressed with the progress of the talks or Wade’s outburst. He says team owners had the urgency...

“...People their age bring to planning a 2 p.m. nap...Sure, imagining Wade sticking it to basketball's bellicose bully is a great picture, but if you zoom out you can clearly see the league's owners yawning, or perhaps even chuckling, at Wade's confident petulance, knowing that his outburst stems from a growing sense of outrage and frustration at the lack of progress in the talks.”

Labor talks are scheduled to resume Monday, the day training camps were originally set to begin.
