“New details about a man accused of killing his wife. Police now say it was a sex fantasy gone wrong. Arthur Sedille told police that he would often put a gun to his wife’s head in bed, but earlier this month he accidentally pulled the trigger.” (KOCO)
A sex fantasy gone wrong- or a creative ploy to get off the hook for murder? Arthur Sedille tells Oklahoma police- he had no idea the gun he held to his wife’s head was loaded, but will anybody believe him? Oklahoma City’s KFOR combed through Facebook for information about the couple.
“The wife, Rebecca Sedille, was 50 years old. Her husband, Arthur Sedille, was 24. We know they’d been married about three years. According to both their Facebook pages, both of them had an interest in guns.”
Not just guns. An AOL contributor calls Sedille a “firearms aficionado”- his Facebook interests actually include the AK-47 assault rifle, the M-1 Carbine rifle, Jagermeister... and Jesus Christ.
A blogger for The Stir says- the fact that Sedille frantically called 9-1-1 right after the shooting may give police reason to believe his story- but seriously? Real bullets in a sex toy?
“…if the Sedilles did engage in such a sexual practice, why on earth would REAL bullets ever be put in their fetish toy??! Wouldn't a realistic squirt gun have been a better option? I'm going to go on record and say that if he pulls this off, I think we might expect a remarkable increase in women being banged to death by their mates.”
And a writer for Gather wants to know, how are investigators ever going to sort out such a bizarre situation?
“It’s difficult to imagine sexual fantasies involving one partner putting a gun to the other’s head, let alone understand it. The fate of a 23-year-old shooting his 50-year-old wife might just have more to with the history and stability of the marriage than the ‘I didn’t know the gun was loaded’ defense.”
And Scallywag & Vagabond says reporters should stop focusing on the weirdness of the crime- and dig deeper into the issue the prosecution is sure to focus on- the 27 year age difference between the gun-loving couple.
“Isn’t this story less shocking because of the graphically sexual and violent aspects… than for its implicit hinting at an apparent [role] reversal: the young woman marrying an older man for money, and proceeding to kill him? Which is telling of changing gender roles… the endlessly compelling interplay of reality with fantasy, and even, perhaps, the dangers of cougardom.”
Police are holding Sedille on suspicion of first-degree murder…but he hasn’t been formally charged yet.
