Ousted! Ozzie Guillen is out in Chicago, fired after eight seasons filled with moments like these:

“[Expletive] pathetic. No [expletive] energy. We take the day off today instead of being yesterday, tomorrow. We go to Cleveland and play the way we play in Kansas City, we’re gonna be [expletive]... come July.”

Guillen tallied two division titles and a World Series ring in his tenure, but as CSN Bay Area’s Ray Ratto writes, Guillen’s real legacy is his loud mouth:

“God love Oz -- and let’s be fair, when you stack him up against the Wizard Of, the Canseco, the Osbourne, the HBO prison serial … he’s still the craziest of all … Nobody’s been Ozzie since Billy Martin.”

So where does Ozzie go from here? Initial reports say he has a deal in place with the Florida Marlins. Wherever he ends up, Guillen says one thing is certain: he wants to get paid.

“I saw a 62-foot boat. That’s what I want, and that’s what I’m going to get. People have to pay me for that. White Sox? I don’t know. Marlins? I don’t know. But somebody will pay. I want to buy my [bleeping] boat.”

Guillen’s naughty nature never suited the White Sox or GM Kenny Williams. Despite the duo’s rocky relationship, Williams took no pleasure in making his announcement:

“I for one, I am not walking out of the building come Wednesday with my head held high because I’m embarrassed at this year. We’re gonna work hard to make sure that we right the ship."

The White Sox are far removed from their 2005 World Series form -- they currently sit fifteen games back in the American League Central. First baseman and team captain Paul Konerko called the change “a relief.”

As for Ozzie’s replacement -- rumors are swirling around St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa.

“The Tony La Russa / [Jerry] Reinsdorf connection is hard to miss … He’s the favorite to take over for Guillen (even if he has said he won’t manage anywhere after leaving St. Louis). He seems headed for some upper-management, non-GM position with the White Sox.”

According to reports, The White Sox won’t lose their manager for free. If Ozzie lands in Miami, MLB.com says the Marlins will send infielder Osvaldo Martinez (Oz-Valdo) and a minor leaguer to Chicago.
