Some large number of scientists would have you believe that human induced climate change is a certainty. Some politicians would have you believe that it is definitely our fault for being "too greedy." Others suggest that there is little real scientific linkage between what is observed and the guesses as to its causes. One thing is certain; there are a lot of people trying to cash in on the concept of global warming. Cap and trade; is that a huge step forward or the biggest scam ever? It seems like it may be too early to tell. Thanks for the insights newsy!

As an aside, here is the one of the best anti "human induced global warming" films that I have seen. It is controversial if for no other reason that it is so through and adamant about the idea that the whole thing is a hoax, and being perpetrated for political and financial reasons.

Desertification is a completely normal natural process, how is the Chinese farmer's situation being caused by climate change? It does not mention any of this

After watching Discovery Channel's "Inside Planet Earth" last night, I have come to the conclusion that we are all along for the ride. One massive volcanic eruption will make a bigger impact on our climate than a total global effort to reduce CO2 emissions. If you haven't seen Inside Planet Earth, I highly recommend it. It is another incredible production by Discovery that gave me a new way to look at our world.

Let's just admit we have no idea. I like what was said earlier... we're along for the ride. Of course that doesn't mean we shouldn't do what we can to limit our ecological footprint on this planet. I think that we can live in a harmonious existence with nature we just have to take a little more care than we're used to.

I tend to agree that there is little to be done to stop the current climate change, and I'm not sure that is a bad thing. The environment goes in cycles, like politics. We are currently in an ice age, and while we may be warming up eventually we are going to hit another glacial period. Let's be thankful we don't have to deal with that.

The climate has always been changing. We've had at least one ice age in the past. Humans have always proven their adaptability when pushed to the edge. Is it really so critical that we stop the climate from changing (a task on the scale of terraforming) or should we just admit we're along for the ride?
