One of the hottest shows on TV is getting some hot guest stars. But is "Glee" in danger of a sophomore slump from all the showstoppers?

First, John Stamos was announced. Then, reports were that Katie Holmes would do a five-episode stint, but her rep told CBS affiliate KPSP that the rumors weren’t true. Now, People Magazine says Academy Award winner Javier Bardem will play a rock star. So, Glee is bringing in big names. In April, Jennifer Lopez talked to Ellen Degeneres about her hope for a spot…

JENNIFER LOPEZ: “I’m a huge fan. Whenever you want, I’m good. I kind of offered myself up.”

…and now, Perez Hilton reports singer Katy Perry is campaigning for one. Celebuzz says "Glee" is a Hollywood hot ticket.

“…it seems like every celebrity in Hollywood is vying for a guest spot on 'Glee'....”

Bardem marks a change for Glee: Season 1 featured guest spots from Broadway stars like Kristin Chenoweth and singers like Olivia Newton-John, but Bardem doesn’t have much vocal experience. Cinematical.com says this speaks to Glee’s future.

“…this is the first time a major cinema actor has appeared in the show. A move [for the show] to the big screen might not be far off.”

The media’s reception to Bardem’s appearance has been mostly positive, but The Los Angeles Times says "Glee" is in danger of overdoing it.

“…my head is pounding at the thought of another guest-star-packed season that loses sight of the background players that have yet to be given much of a chance to shine…”

What do you think? Are you excited for the cameos on "Glee", or do guest star spotlights spoil the show?
