Gene Simmons may now “KISS” his bride.
Here’s WABC...
“The KISS frontman married his longtime girlfriend Shannon Tweed in Beverly Hills. More than 400 guests including Hugh Hefner, Bill Maher, and KISS band members of course attended the wedding. People Magazine, reported they have exchanged they vows they wrote themselves. Simmons and Tweed have been together for 28 years and they have two children together.”
The wedding might come as a surprise to some-- because a few months ago the couple was on the Joy Behar Show discussing their reality show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
Tweed- claimed she was “over it and tired”-- when it came to the former KISS star’s kiss n’tell ways.
Joy Behar: “Gene Simmons was on the show and I heard this before from him, anyway, he claims his had sex with 5,000 women. Do you believe that?”
Alice Cooper: “At the same time?”
Behar: “No, but if that is true, wouldn’t he be in traction? How’s your back Gene?”
Simmons: “My back is good my shwinkle not so much.”
Tweed: “That’s very nice of you to joke about it, so rude.”
Simmons: “Its a joke. I was just joking because she is a comedian.”
Tweed: “Its so rude for you to joke about it. Oh, you think its really funny.”
BlackBook Magazine says while some might see this as a notorious playboy going soft, Simmons actually left something arguably important out of his vows.
“Groupies have nothing to shed a slightly psychotic fan tear over, he refused to promise fidelity in clips on his TV show... Eternal commitment, till death do they part, whatever. Simmons is a rockstar so he can bend the sacred rules.”
While he may have left out the part to “forsake all others” he didn’t forget the magical four letter word--love.
Here’s Entertainment Tonight...
"There's nobody I've ever said I love you to. I even find it difficult to say 'I love you' to my mother. But I love Shannon with allmy heart and all my soul, and always will."
Finally, E! reports the couple’s two children, Nick and Sophie, were in charge of invitations. They summed up the event by saying...
“We will be united as a Family in title and spirit forever... There will no longer be a Team Tweed or a Team Simmons but instead a Team Tweed Simmons, and as annoyingly long as that is, We hope you're on it."
