In Tripoli, rebel fighters believe they have located Muammar Qaddafi. At the same time, Qaddafi's son al-Saadi negotiated his own surrender with the National Transitional Council.
The New YorkTimes highlights...
“Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi was cornered in the desert town of Bani Walid only 150 miles from the capital, Rebel fighters have called on him to give up peacefully to avoid further bloodshed.”
But - The Christian Science Monitor reports, Qaddafi and his loyalists have rejected the Libyan rebels' ultimatum to surrender.
Rebels demanded that surrender come by Saturday, or the towns still loyal to Qaddafi would face a final military assault.
In the midst of those negotiations, Qaddafi's son al-saadi IS trying to surrender.
AlJazeera has a video of National Transitional Council saying Gaddafi's son quote "wants to surrender".
"Today I have a phone conversation with Qaddafi's son al-saadi, he asked to be apart of the revolution and to get guarantees to come back to his people in Tripoli … we will be in contact to him for follow up this matter. "
But will he be captured? CBS News reports - Libyan rebels are confident they will get Qaddafi to surrender.
"Qaddafi's spokesman said again...Qaddafi's family is ready to negotiate with the rebels."
But negotiations could be unlikely. Fox News says that the rebels want him dead.
“...there’s little chance of him surviving direct contact with rebels considering they’ve openly talked about killing him.”
