“Catch me if you can, I’m in Brooklyn”. That’s what New York fugitive Victor Burgos posted on his Facebook. And just 15 minutes later, New York’s finest did just that.

“Burgos was wanted on several warrants for domestic violence and harrasment of his ex-girlfriend.” (WNYW)

“They found him sitting at his computer with Facebook still open. He’s now updated his status to ‘in jail.’” (WLWT)

And New York Daily News reports, that wasn’t even the most audacious part.

“Even more brazen, Burgos posted on his Web page a video showing him walking into an unidentified NYPD stationhouse believed to be in Brooklyn, authorities said.”

The Escapist notes, Burgos isn’t the only one guilty of criminal stupidity when it comes to Facebook.

“There was that guy who tried to hire a hitman via a post on his wall. The one dude who kept updating his status after he took a hostage and was in a stand-off with police. Oh, and that criminal mastermind who posted photos of himself posing with the stuff he was stealing, mid-burglary.”

The taunts have since been deleted from Burgos’ Facebook page.
