The Taj Majal casino in Atlantic City is offering – quite the package. It’s called the nip, tuck and lift sweepstakes.
Check it out – as you can see right here on its website – it’s no joke. It works like a raffle – just gamble a bunch at the Taj in October and you could win.
And the media are lovin talking about it –
“Donald Trump is putting a new face on gambling prizes.” (WBBM)
“A different kind of casino prize gives new meaning to going bust.” (WJBK)
“The winner gets to walk away with a lot more than a wallet full of cash.” (News 12)
But its not getting the best reception – anchors on WJBK – think it’s a little weird.
“So what do we think about this?”
“I think I’d rather take the money.”
“You can do that too.”
“You can get the money if you don’t want the plastic surgery.”
“Good. Good”
“I don’t like it at all. Just me.
Yeah, it seems to imply that everyone needs something that needs to be fixed. Surgically.”
A writer for Gather thinks the winner should get the surgery – because then whats the point?
“Hopefully, a party pooper doesn't win the prize and opt out of the $25k cosmetic surgery package. The before and after pictures that are likely to be the follow up for such a wild promotion are sure to be entertaining.”
But on News 12 – it’s more of what’s wrong with the whole thing. Anchors say it combines two troubling combos.
“Some are appalled by the prize.”
“As long as you don’t have to do your hair like his.”
“They say that it could be two addictive habits gambling and plastic surgery. So it might encourage that.”
But its not the worst marketing ploy if everybody is talking about it - right? That’s what a senior VP from a prominent gaming group told the Press of Atlantic City...
“I give Trump credit for thinking outside of the box. Given the premium placed on perfect looks in today’s society, I think this promotion is going to resonate with a significant percentage of Atlantic City’s customer base...”
The drawing is set to go down or up October 29th.
