The controversial Westboro Baptist Church picketed a ‘hedonistic’ Foo Fighter’s concert in Kansas City -- only to be treated to their very own rock n’ roll show. KSHB has the video.

“Driving all night, got a hankering for something. I think I’m in the mood for some hot man-muffins. Mmm, sounds so fine, yes, indeed. Keep it clean.”

KMGH has more.

“But the band decided to give those protesters a dose of their own medicine. Check them out, the Foo Fighters rolling up on a truck, gave a little performance there, all dressed as hillbillies.”

The band performed the song ‘Keep It Clean (Hot Buns)’, a song about same-sex love, for the protesters. Fox News reports the Westboro Baptist Church announced they would picket the band earlier this month.

“The church accused the band of using their status to promote bad behavior. Really? The Foo Fighters? Since when is the Westboro Church the modicum of good behavior?”

NME reports the Westboro Baptist Church announced they were going to protest the performance because the band was part of an entertainment industry that is -quote ‘hard-hearted, hell-bound, and hedonistic.” The statement continues…

“The people in this nation have sinned away their day of grace and have so enraged their God that you are seeing new outpourings of his wrath continually. We will be there to remind you that the day of your destruction is upon you, even as you vainly seek comfort in the frivolities of this life.”

During an interlude in the Foo Fighter’s counter-protest, lead singer Dave Grohl made a brief announcement.

“It takes all kinds! I don’t care if you’re black or white or purple of green, whether you’re Pennsylavanian or Transylvanian, Lady Gaga or Lady Antebellum. Men loving women and women loving men and men loving men and women loving women—you all know we like to watch that. But what I’d like to say is , God Bless America, y’all!”

KSHB News spoke with some fans, who approved of the band’s strong stance against the protest.

“Whether you’re gay or straight… or the Foo Fighters! God loves everyone.”

The Westboro Church have previously picketed several renowned musicians, including Michael Jackson and former Black Sabbath member Ronnie James Dio. Foo Fighters on tour, promoting their seventh studio album “Wasting Light.”
