This is a joke...no MSNBC "you" are not winning. Gay marriage should not be considered the same as man and women marriage. We are a traditional country...if you don't like it you are welcome to leave. I've had it with the media pushing this crap upon us. It's really what the media wants, not want America wants. Same with the bailouts, national health care, increased taxes, a government with entirely too much power, and of course telling the entire world how sorry we are for being the worlds true superpower.

He was able to get some basic rights without the Republican party completely bashing him. At least give him some credit for that.

I think this is a good step in the right direction. In my eyes it is just one of a few the Administration will make in getting equal rights for all. We have to remember he hasen't even been in office a year and yet look at how much he has accomplished. Lets not blame him for something he has not done when he still has time to do it. Instead lets support him and believe he has the ability to live up to his name sake "CHANGE"!

Half a loaf of bread is better than none at all. It would have been easy for Obama to put off gay rights altogether given the economy, but he didn't. Give the man credit for winning a small battle v. getting bogged down in a larger war.

This is a great step, however he should have made DOMA his first priority. The president has made healthcare a central part of his platform yet he won't extend health benefits to same-sex partners this is kind of wishy-washy. It makes sense to start with federal employees because it is a signal of federal support, this is important because DOMA limits full-faith and credit by placing civil rights in the hands of states. It was right to make a change at the federal level, this just wasn't a big enough change.
