You take the good, you take the bad, but now a former Facts of Life star is taking the real bad.

Actress Lisa Whelchel wrapped up filming for Survivor: Philippines in April. On Tuesday, she tweeted

Dr. just called with blood test results...I have West Nile. Ugh. I’m fine, just tired. Takes a year to recover. :(

The Christian Post notes... “Whelchel can expect body aches, fatigue and hopefully will avoid the more serious symptoms such as headaches, disorientation and sudden weakness. In rare cases, West Nile victims can develop a life-threatening illness and inflammation of the brain.”

And People Magazine notes: “Although the disease is spread by mosquitoes, there have been nearly 4,000 cases in the U.S. this year.”

It’s not clear whether her diagnosis is related to her time in the Philippines. Whelchel later tweeted a thank you for quote “all the sweet tweets” and said she expects to make a full recovery.
