Elementary school kids in Compton got a special treat earlier this month--story time with a celebrity. KTLA reports the special guest was a different kind of celebrity.

GLEN WALKER: “These photographs posted on TMZ look innocent enough, a nice looking woman reading to young students at Emerson Elementary School in Compton. But that young woman is also this young woman, Sasha Grey. A model and an award-winning actress, make that award-winning porn actress.”

Once parents got wind of the actress’ movie credits, they weren’t too happy. A Cinema Blend writer says its great that Grey wants to give back to the community but she might wanna pick another charity.

“There are plenty of charities Grey would be a great spokesman for. If she wants to speak out for shelter animals, or battered women, or anything not involving children, really, she could be a brilliant spokesperson. However, she shouldn’t expect to go into a situation where kids are involved and not get flak from someone.”

But a Baby Center writer says a person’s past shouldn’t get in the way of helping the community.

“...I think it can be a mistake to judge a person based on choices they made when they were barely past adolescence. God knows I showed some questionable judgment in my teens and early 20s and I would hate for someone to hold that against me if I were trying to volunteer my time and perhaps make a difference in a child’s life.”

Grey got out of the adult film business to pursue more mainstream gigs, which an Examiner writer outlines.

“The school most likely invited Grey because she hasn't done porn in two years and is now working as a mainstream actress. Her credits include HBO's hit series Entourage as well as a number of films. Not of the adult variety.”

A rep for the Compton Unified School District denies Grey was in the classroom, telling TMZ...

“ ‘We have several celebrities who read to our students each year. The actress you have indicated [Sasha] was not present.’ ”
