There’s a biopic in the works about Elton John, and John himself has named his pick to play for the lead, of well, himself -- Justin  Timberlake. John told The Los Angeles Times:

“No. 1 on my wish list is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David LaChapelle video of ‘Rocket Man’ and was superb.”

KSBI has that video, and more details on the movie.

“Elton says the flick will be more like a Moulin Rouge than a normal biography, and he is currently working on fine-tuning the script.”

Anchors on HLN say, bring on the Justin.

“Can he pull it off? I think he could.”
“Yeah, I do believe Timberlake could pull it off.”

But, KDVR is torn -- wondering if Timberlake needs more acting experience to portray such a monumental music icon.

“I don’t know. I don’t really see it.”
“Tough role for Justin. Can he play piano? I mean -- Elton John.”
“It is Elton John, but Timberlake did great in ‘Social Network,’ he’s a singer himself.”

Some outlets are reporting this might be only part one of two films about John, because this movie will only cover his life up until he went into rehab in 1990.
