The Muslim Brotherhood is no longer banned -- it made it through the revolution -- and has now established a relationship with the United States. While some question the brotherhood’s longevity, most analysts agree the Brotherhood is still powerful.

REPORTER: “Analysts say the brotherhood is too influential to ignore.”
ANALYST: “American administration has no choice but to talk to the Muslim Brotherhood -- they are the major power in Egypt -- and if there is a fair election tomorrow I think they will control most of the seats in the Parliment.”
(CBS News)

Those discussions appear to be yielding modest results.
Even in the midst of inner turmoil and outer challenges, The Trumpet reports the Muslim Brotherhood knows what it’s doing...

“To help assuage Western fears, it has even promised to refrain from submitting a candidate in upcoming presidential elections. The analysts and experts rooted in reality don’t buy it, which is wise, considering it seems the MB [Muslim Brotherhood]  has already quietly selected its candidate for president..."

The brotherhood is looking to the future...

REPORTER: “On the Muslim Brotherhood’s emblem is the slogan ‘Be prepared’ and for the first time in the group’s recent history it is enjoying unprecedented political freedom in the absence of a government crackdown. But is the organization prepared for its biggest challenge yet?”
BROTHERHOOD SECRETARY: “It’s natural that in these times challengers are more difficult. Some may fail these tests but splits in the group in large divisions won’t happen.”
               (Al Jazeera)

But so far, there have already been five documented divisions from the Muslim Brotherhood. One former member -- recently kicked out of the Brotherhood says there’s a generational gap which keeps on widening. CNN reports...

“The young members of the coalition are united by a single goal: ensuring Egypt's transition to a civil democratic state... young Muslim Brotherhood members say they are feeling increasingly alienated from the Islamist organization that shaped their political beliefs and influenced their behavior for most of their lives.”

The Christian Post interviews a professor
who says competition just may create a spark...

“...the Brotherhood will no doubt continue to have an influential role in shaping Egypt’s society... however ...with an open and more pluralistic political climate, the MB [Muslim Brotherhood] will be one of many players. The Muslim Brotherhood... gained influence in past elections because they were “the only game in town” absent other political choices... With more political opposition in free and fair elections, the MB [Muslim Brotherhood] will be influential but not necessarily a dominant factor.

Elections are set to take place in September -- revealing the head party in Egypt.
