The moon is made of cheese... So cheese pizza on the moon isn’t too much of a stretch.
The President and CEO of Domino’s Japan says he’s got a dream -- delivering Domino’s pizza on the moon.
“Perhaps you think it is foolish for us to take on such a challenge and maybe we are foolish but we have a dream. And that dream is to deliver our Domino’s pizza to the moon.”
(AOC)
The Telegraph breaks down the predicted costs of the project:
“The company estimates the entire project will cost Y1.67 trillion - [or $21.7 billion] - of which Y560 billion [$7.3 billion] will be required to transport 70 tons of construction materials and pizza-making equipment to the moon aboard 15 rockets.”
And HuffPost’s Laura Hibbard reports: “...building the restaurant seems to be a strike at Pizza Hut, which became the first chain to deliver pizzas to space back in 2001.”
So -- want that pie in the sky? Unfortunately -- The Register suggests -- you might not want to get too excited.
“The video also features some seriously strange motivational rhetoric about how good it is to have a dream and frequent references by Oelkers to his ‘fellow Earthlings’, leading to the suspicion that this may be one of those crazy marketing stunts Japanese companies are so fond of.”
