Rick Santorum recently accused conservative blog The Drudge Report of cheerleading for rival Mitt Romney. Now — another conservative pundit — Glenn Beck — is warning the former Pennsylvania senator — don’t mess with Matt Drudge.

“Rick at one point said something to the effect of ‘Drudge is in the tank for Romney. … I think everybody is learning, ‘don’t pick a fight with Matt Drudge. … You don’t go to war with a man who buys ink by the barrel.”

Although the site’s aesthetic has hardly changed since its genesis in 1997, Matt Drudge’s Drudge Report pulls in more than 13 million unique visitors each month. And — according to a report by the Pew Research Center last fall — it drives more traffic to other sites through referrals than Facebook and Twitter combined.

Earlier this month, Santorum criticized Drudge — telling a Cincinnati radio host the Drudge Report favored Mitt Romney.

SANTORUM: “Drudge, again, shilling for Romney, gets the facts wrong.”

He’s not the only one to make the charge. The Huffington Post’s Sam Stein noted earlier this month...

“While the rest of the national press corps hyperventilated over Romney's inability to fill even a small sliver of Detroit's Ford Field for an over-hyped economic address, Drudge avoided the matter.”

And the day after Romney won six states on Super Tuesday, this Drudge headline prompted The New York Times to report, “Drudge Shows His Hand” — in reference to a perceived show of support for Romney.

But it isn’t the first time Santorum’s accused the media of favoring his rivals. While a guest on Fox News radio — the candidate accused the network of quote “shilling” for Mitt Romney. To that — conservative blog Hot Air says — IF media outlets are giving Romney frontrunner status — that’s because he IS the frontrunner.

“Time to start counting delegates, folks. … Maybe Santorum’s just a whiner.”

Then again, Politico quotes an unnamed aide of a Romney rival — who says,

“Romney had Drudge in 2008 and still wasn’t able to win...”

Drudge himself hasn’t commented.
