Prague Vatican Embassy officials got more than bargained for when they invited Dr. Jaroslav Bartak to check the health of their staff. STV has the story.
“Doctor Jaroslav Bartak was reportedly allowed access to the building amid fears a ‘disease’ was spreading among staff, but used his time at the embassy to shoot an adult movie featuring actors dressed up as religious personnel including nuns and a cardinal.”
So how did this happen? According to the Prague Monitor, Bartak was the physician of a former Vatican Ambassador, Diego Causero. Causero claims to have known nothing of the goings on but one of the actors in the film, Oldrich Bares, has a different story.
“...the film-makers entered the embassy via the main entry and they also met the ambassador who welcomed Bartak. Bares also claims that Causero came to watch the shooting twice.”
Of course, Vatican Embassy officials are outraged. Metro UK has their statement:
“'He gained access to the historic building under false pretences ... to stage morally objectionable visual images, to which, as a representative of the faithful, the Apostolic Nunciature strongly protests.'”
This is not the first time the doctor’s been in hot water. According to Czech Position, saying Bartak...
“...faces charges of rape, sexual harassment, blackmail, unlawful imprisonment and the unauthorized production and handling of narcotic and psychotropic substances, among other lesser charges.” … adding... “Some 12 women, mostly his former assistants, have come forward with rape charges.”
While certain scenes from the film with the working title “The Freemason Giacomo Casanova” was shot in the Vatican Embassy -- no actual sex scenes were shot there.
