Nineties kids: your dream is coming true. Disney has started the process of remaking one of their iconic TGIF shows...

Lasting seven seasons, the Boy Meets World series ended with star-couple Cory and Topanga marrying and moving in together. TVLine says the new show would be called Girl Meets World and would feature Cory and Topanga’s preteen daughter. But even better....

“Sources say that the cable network is trying to land original series stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel to revisit their roles of sweethearts Cory and Topanga.”

That’s right, a possible reunion of the favorite 90’s couple. Boy Meets World isn’t the first 90’s show to re-appear on television, with Beverly Hills 90210 and Degrassi having already taken the plunge. ScreenRant says next to Dallas, Boy Meets World is one of the most memorable series being remade to date and could work well.

Degrassi: The Next Generation followed Emma, the daughter of one of the original Degrassi characters, Spike, as she made her way through middle school, then high school. … Degrassi: The Next Generation had just as many adults watching the show as they had teenagers. Essentially, Girl Meets World is doing the exact same thing.”

Disney Channel has the advantage of attracting younger and older viewers with the remake. But blogger Grace Gavilanes points out the remake has a lot to live up to.

“I don't really know how I feel about this, guys. On one hand, I'm thinking, ‘YES! Finally! I've always wondered about Copanga...are they happy in New York? Is Shawn with them, and are they all living happily together in a cozy suburban neighborhood?!’ But on the other hand, I think we all know it just wouldn't be the same.”
