“I think everybody has heard the news by now, that we have signed Michael Vick.  I am a believer that as long as people go through the right process they deserve a second chance.” (ESPN)

“I pretty much lobbied to get him here.   Because I believe everyone deserves a second chance and what a great place to come with this group who continues to stay together and we bond together through tough times. (ESPN)

“As we all know in the past I have made some terrible mistakes, and done some horrible things.  Now I want to be part of the solution and not the problem.” (ESPN)

It is official. Michael Vick has a job in the NFL again, after serving 18 months in federal prison for dog-fighting.

We are analyzing reaction and determining the impact Vick’s return will have on the NFL and their fans.

11Alive in Atlanta, got mixed opinions from Falcons, his former team, and Eagles fans.

“I’m glad that he signed, but not glad that he signed with the eagles.  I know when Philly comes to Atlanta its going to be a mad house.

“I think he deserves a shot.  You see what happens in baseball with steroids and people just get a slap on the wrist.”

A poll on ESPN revealed Vick is the most hated athlete in sports. PETA issued this statement on it’s website Friday morning.

“PETA and millions of decent football fans around the world are disappointed that the Philadelphia eagles have chosen to sign a man who hanged dogs from trees, electrocuted them with jumper cables,..and drowned in his own swimming pool.”

According to the Atlanta Journal Constiution, tickets are going fast in Atlanta for when the Eagles come to town December 6th, even though many fans said they would boycott if Vick played again.

Vick will also appear on 60 minutes Sunday night August 16th.

Here is the preview:

“It was wrong JB, I feel you know tremendous hurt behind what happened. I should have taken the intitative to stop what was happening.  But I didn’t, I didn’t step up. I wasn’t a leader."

So are you rooting for Vick to succeed?  Do you think the Eagles did the right thing by signing him?
