They say it’s not over until the fat lady sings, but what if that fat lady is Adele?

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld dissed the British singer for being big-boned. CelebTV reports…

“The thing at the moment is Adele, ‘She is a little too fat but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice’ … we are sure she will thank you for that divine compliment.”

A blogger for SFWeekly asks if Lagerfeld is qualified to punish others for extra pounds, writing …

“Do you know how sick and tired rounder women are of hearing that whole ‘but she has a beautiful face’ add-on after the ‘fatty’ accusation? That weird, oh so common, backhanded compliment is one of the most patronizing things a woman could ever hear, and altogether too many women have to hear it on a regular basis.”

An ABC News blogger turns Lagerfeld’s low blow around saying the designer found himself in the “little to fat” category not too long ago.

“Ironically, Lagerfeld himself was once overweight — he lost close to 100 pounds in 13 months back in 2001 by following a special diet. Wonder how he would have felt if some world-famous designer had called him ‘too fat.’”

And Billboard notes, Lagerfeld’s motor mouth is old news, saying this isn’t the first time the king of all things Chanel has spoken his mind.

“The 78-year-old Lagerfeld, infamous for his explosive and vivid public outbursts, let his points of view on the music industry rip as the guest editor of global newspaper Metro.”

Even with all the name-calling buzz, MSNBC doesn’t think this insult will affect Adele.

“It’s really disturbing he would go that far in a public newspaper. She is gorgeous and has publicly said that she doesn’t care what people think -- they can say whatever they want -- it’s not going to hurt her. So good for her.”

And has Lagerfeld’s comment changed the way Adele’s die hard fans view her? Entertainment Wise says no, but the way they view Lagerfeld has changed. For the worse. Entertainment Wise reports.

“Curves and Chaos, an LA-based blog for bigger women, wrote: ‘Are you freaking kidding me? We’re done with him and Chanel as long as he’s involved with them.’”

BBC reports Adele has not yet responded to Lagerfeld’s interview.
