Three weeks after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter for the death of Michael Jackson, Dr. Conrad Murray has been sentenced -- to the maximum.

Judge Michael Pastor sentenced Murray to four years in prison. Pastor said he was impressed by Murray’s good actions throughout his life, but that Murray’s treatment of Jackson was, quote,  "a cycle of horrible medicine." Despite the maximum sentence, TMZ reports the reality of what Murray faces.

“Judge Michael Pastor threw the book at Dr. Conrad Murray … But Murray will not spend a single day in prison because of a new California law.  He'll serve his time in L.A. County Jail.  And in jail, at most Murray will only serve half the sentence.”

Pastor noted when reading his decision that Murray didn’t seem to show remorse for Jackson’s death. Fox News reports on Murray’s reaction to the judge’s words.

“Murray listened to the verdict stone faced, and showed no reaction to the judge's decision.”

Murray was also ordered to pay restitution to Jackson’s family -- though that amount will be determined at a later date. Still, MSNBC says it seems unlikely that Jackson’s children will see any cash.

“It's unlikely that Murray can pay any sizable sum, including the $1.8 million cost of his [Jackson’s] funeral. He was deeply in debt when he agreed to serve as Jackson's personal physician for $150,000 a month, and the singer died before Murray received any money.”

Murray was credited 46 days of time served.
