Comedian Phyllis Diller has died in Los Angeles. She was 95.


Diller has been called a true legend in the world of comedy. She began her career in the 1950s and rose to stardom in the 60s.1969

DILLER, VIA “THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW” CIRCA 1969: “Would you believe that I once entered a beauty contest? I must have been out of my mind. I not only came last, but I got 361 get well cards.”

She’s credited with paving the way for female comics.

She’s called Joan Rivers a “protege.”

And on Twitter, Ellen DeGeneres called Diller the “queen of one-liners” and a pioneer.

According to TMZ, Diller died in her sleep at home surrounded by family.
