As far as cable news feuds go -- the goatee versus the comb-over is probably NOT one for the history books.
But when Donald Trump laid into MSNBC’s Chuck Todd on Todd’s show on Monday -- bloggers quickly took sides.
TODD: “Let me let you respond to those poll numbers, that I think you wanted to respond to...”
TRUMP: “You said Donald Trump wanted to respond to a poll. Well, I didn't even know what poll you're talking about, number one, Chuck. I didn't call you, you called me about 40 times trying to get me on the show. Your statement is false.”
Todd was asking the former GOP presidential candidate about a poll that found the majority of early primary and caucus state voters were less likely to vote for a candidate with Trump’s endorsement.
Clearly Trump wasn’t a fan of the poll -- or of Todd’s suggestion that Trump WANTED to respond to it. Todd did later concede that it was the show who contacted Trump rather than the other way around.
Trump proceeded to tell Todd he was doing NBC “a favor” by appearing on Todd’s show. So who got the better of whom? Depends on where you look.
Here’s Business Insider’s headline: “Donald Trump is destroying Chuck Todd on MSNBC”
And a FoxNews.com headline reads, “Trump Kicks Todd’s Butt all over NBC news”
But on Twitter, Al Jazeera’s Derrick Ashong said, “Chuck Todd was gracious in handling Trump's idiocy today. Hope his show will learn not 2 put the carnival barker on air anymore.”
And The Huffington Post wonders if it’s Trump who tends to escalate any situation.
“Trump was in a fighting mood, to say the least. Todd struggled to get a word in edgewise.”
The site compiled a slideshow of Trump’s other televised run-ins. There was Trump versus Rosie O’Donnell, Trump versus Lawrence O’Donnell, and Trump versus Jerry Seinfeld -- to name a few.
Trump is set to host a presidential debate in Iowa on December 27th.
