George and Cindy Anthony will break their silence -- and get grilled by Dr. Phil in their first post-trial interview.
“My interview with Casey Anthony’s parents was a candid in depth conversation -- where we discussed what they knew, when they knew it, and what they think really happened to little Caylee.” (Babble)
Dr. Phil’s season opener plans to set the record straight once and for all. George and Cindy will tell all about the mystery of Caylee’s disappearance and the sensational trial that followed. Dr. Phil’s hook promises a quote “explanation America has never heard before.”
But fellow TV PhD - Dr. Drew won’t buy into the hype just yet. He asks his viewers: do you think Anthony’s parents are telling the truth?
“We posted this question on the website today. Do you think that George and Cindy Anthony will be truthful in their upcoming interview. Here are the results. Only 3% of you said yes! 75% Of you said no. 21% Of you said they'll be somewhat truthful.”
Even if viewers won’t believe the Anthonys, George and Cindy believed in their daughter’s defense -- and Jose Baez, the lawyer who stood by Casey for three years. In the interview Cindy tells Dr. Phil...
“George would never have put us through those six months of not knowing where Caylee was if he knew where Caylee was because I watched his heart break every single day and I watched him as frantic as he was.” (Daily Mail)
The Anthonys might feel relieved it was Dr. Phil on ABC’s The View Monday -- as the ladies tore into the man behind the moustache about the exclusive sitdown.
SAWYER: “You didn't pay them?”
DR. PHIL: ‘I have to give them credit. They did not ask to be paid. They wanted it very clear. They asked us, they didn't demand, would we make a donation to a charitable foundation if and when it gets set up, which it hasn't yet. They made it clear they didn't want any money for this because they didn't want to be seen as exploiting.”
The interview airs Tuesday on CBS.
