We’re just hours away from election day, and the candidates are still neck-and-neck. Now both sides are flying from state to state to get those last electoral votes.

ABC News says President Obama’s path to victory depends on three states: Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio.

“If President Obama can win these three on top of the solid blue states democrats have taken in the last several elections, he’ll have the 271 electoral votes he needs to win, even if Governor Romney sweeps all the rest of the battleground states.”

The popular vote is nearly dead even, but Mr. Obama has a slight lead in electoral votes. CNN explains which states Mitt Romney needs to win.

“If Governor Romney can win those four: Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, and Ohio. Look at that. Then he would need just any one. Pick one off the menu.”

By winning Ohio, Mr. Obama could make Mr. Romney’s campaign much harder. It’s being called the Ohio firewall. And a poll by The Columbus Dispatch shows Mr. Obama ahead, but only by 2 percent.

“The “Ohio firewall” precariously stands for President Barack Obama, but a strong Republican turnout could enable Mitt Romney to tear it down on Election Day.”

A Republican candidate has never become president without winning Ohio.
