A group of Mormons, otherwise known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, got into trouble with its provocative calendar "Men on a Mission," and yes, this group of Mormons is in hot water again, this time promoting the calendar "Hot Mormon Muffins" as you see in the video.
Media sources question the appropriateness of this calendar, which shows 12 sexy Mormon moms. We bring you perspectives from KPTV, Twirlit magazine, KIFI, Right Cuisine and KUTV.
A member of the Church tells Portland’s FOX12 she is repulsed by the calendar.
“I think it’s disgusting how people are trying to promote pornography and disgusting material throughout the world, whether it's in the church or outside of the church.”
But a Twirlit magazine writer says people should not be so serious.
“Everybody needs to lighten up. Why do religion and a sense of humor have to be mutually exclusive?”
A reporter from Idaho’s KIFI says the calendar was done in good nature. She talks about cover girl Tami Roberts.
“Tami Roberts said she posed for the calendar for fun. She heard about the backlash from the LDS men’s calendar, and wanted to break down the Mormon stereotype.”
A writer for food blog, Right Cuisine, says members should abide by rules of the organization.
“I personally find it offensive to women, as well as the Church. Usually when someone joins anything, they are aware of the rules, regulations and everything associated with it. By joining, you are accepting these terms and I don’t believe you have the right to jump in and upset the apple cart, so to speak.”
A Mormon mom featured in the calendar tells KUTV that people should stop being so judgmental.
“Just accept each other. Just love each other and support each other, and quit casting stones.”
