Is Britney Spears back -- and for good this time? That’s what many are hoping for after the music video for her hit “Hold It Against Me” premiered last week. The new video has already racked up more than 8 million views and counting and MTV is predicting it will....

“....have fans talking for quite some time about its metaphorical images about the trials and tribulations of pop superstardom, funky fashions and an over-the-top fight scene against herself.”

It appears MTV just may be onto something, as the fans reactions seem to be -- well -- overwhelmingly positive.

Fan 1 - “It was very like Mortal Kombat meets like rocky horror picture show. It was insanity.”
Fan 2 - “I'm so happy she’s dancing again.”
Fan 3 - “I cant believe I saw Britney in a cat fight with Britney.”
Fan 4 - “The dancing was just sick.”

But not everyone is screaming for Britney to “gimme more”. Unreality Shout is tired of hearing about Spears and blames her fans for it.

“...Fans attempts to talk up Ms Spears' latest work (or indeed anything she's done in the last five years) are a desperate ploy to persuade the rest of the world that she's still relevant on some level. She's not.”

Another group not impressed with the princess of pop is INF Daily - who calls Spears out for being more notorious than famous.

“Britney proves the doubters right: she hasn't made a comeback. She's still just a shill, pimping a bunch of products in the least subtle way we've ever seen."

Many fans turned their backs on the singer after bad performances and lip-syncing issues during her previous world tour. But Bradley Stern - music blogger and avid Britney Spears fan - comes to Spears’ defense and offers a new way of looking at her comeback....

“For fans and haters alike yearning to see a return to a 21-year-old Britney, prepare to be disappointed–that Britney doesn’t exist anymore....This is next level. This is the future. This is Adultney.”

Britney’s new album, Femme Fatale is scheduled to drop on March 29th. So - could this be the year of the Spears - or has she made herself - toxic - to fans?
